Sundays Are For the Dogs
I used to love Sundays because it was the one-day of the week where I didn’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn and fight traffic to get to an office where I was overworked and under appreciated.
For me, Sunday wasn’t just another day off but my day to feel proud for earning enough money to buy my apartment, car, and sixty inch plasma TV. Sunday used to be my favorite day until I found out that there was a dog, a monkey, and a chicken that have more money then I’ll ever see in a lifetime.
Gunther IV, Kalu the Chimp, and Gigoo the Chicken have a combined net worth of $491 million. The wealthiest however is Gunther IV, a German shepherd who inherited his money from his father Gunther III who was left $124 million from his owner, Countess Karlotta Liebenstein who died in 1992. Since then Gunther ’s fortunes have grown to a whopping $372 million. Most recently, Gunther purchased Madonna’s eight-bedroom palatial estate in Miami for a reported $7 million.
I don’t know, call me crazy, but it just doesn’t seem fair that a dog that licks his own ass is flying around the world on his own private jet and sipping champagne with celebrities like Madonna while I have to go to work tomorrow.
