Rehab is Out, Psych Wards Are In
From sex tapes to rehab, high profile celebrities like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsey Lohan are continuously at the forefront of creating and setting the hottest new trends in Hollywood.
But has our celebrity obsession gone too far? When an institution like rehab, where junkies and alcoholics fight to overcome their life threatening addictions is played out on a VH1 reality show?
My answer is no.
Anyone who follows celebrity lifestyles like it’s another season of The Hills, knows that rehab is out. Why do you think that teenage drug use is down and prison incarcerations are up? Because nobody wants to be last season.
The truth is if you could buy the complete dvd box set of Britney, Paris, and Lindsey, you’d see that the first season was sex tapes, the second was rehab, the third was prisons, and the fourth is psych wards.
So for all you kids out there who are planning on plowing your car into a tree or getting caught with a gram of coke so you can be cool and land in jail — Don’t do it. Take a cue from Brit, prisons are out and crazy is in.
