Jesus Is Not A Role Model
Sure, Jesus turned water into wine, healed a blind man, walked on water, and is the son of god, but he never had a billion dollars and his own airline. Which might be why Richard Branson has beaten Jesus Christ in a new poll to find the top role model for children.
The survey which was conducted by Opinium Research asked British adults who they wanted their children to look up to. Family members topped the list, followed by billionaire daredevil Richard Branson in second place. Jesus came in third place.
Personally, I don’t see why it was such a surprise. Jesus was born two thousand years ago, and shouldn’t have even been on the list to begin with.
Every generation needs a living role model to emulate and shape their lives after. They are people we connect with and want to become.
It is one thing for parents to want their child to follow the teaching of Jesus, but it’s irresponsible for a parent to want their child to strive to become the son of god.
