The Home of Capitalism

Vegas represents capitalism at its finest. If you have money and you’re willing to part with it, hotels and casinos will cater to your every need. They’ll comp your room, give you free meals, tickets to any show, I’m sure they’d even get you a hooker and drugs if you asked. The only requirement is that you have to play the tables.

And considering the the only two reasons to go to Vegas is to gamble and cheat on your wife, spending a couple of hours betting on the stupid wheel is a small price to pay for a free vacation.

If you’re winning, Vegas is the greatest place on earth, but if you lose to the point that you have no more money to spend, they’ll treat you like a homeless man standing in the middle of Nieman Marcus.

Which might be why when I lost the last of my money at the craps table last night, I got kicked off the table, the cocktail waitress stopped serving me free drinks, my room got taken away, and I had to spend the rest of the night wandering the strip smelling like a cheap pack of cigarettes.

Because unless you have money, there is no sympathy in Vegas, not even on Easter Sunday.
