Dating Manual
It is said that one of the best parts about dating is that when two people meet for the first time, they take the time to tell each other everything and discover what the other truly wants.
Personally, I think that’s just a load of bullshit.
When you start dating for the first time, telling another person your secrets is a unique cathartic experience because maybe you never told anyone that you need to sleep with your feet covered because you think that someone is going to grab them in the middle of the
night or how you never recovered when the golden retriever, which you loved, was put down while you were at school.
But once you’ve been through the same story several times with different people, you don’t want to start over and tell somebody new the same old story because for you it’s no longer unique, it’s repetitive, and repetitive is boring.
Which is why I’m tired of first dates. I want to go out with a girl and have her already know everything she needs to know about me. I want her to know that I like to be in bed before eleven, up by six, and prefer it when she’s on top. I want her to have a manual that explains everything she needs to know about me, so there are no more questions. No more confusion. . . On second thought, maybe that’s what this blog is all about.
