Good news for home buyers. Earlier this week the U.S. Geological Survey released its first ever statewide earthquake forcast for California, and the odds that there is going to be a major earthquake are great.

The study found that there is a 99.7% chance that an earthquake of a magnitude 6.7 or greater will hit California by 2037, while the probability of a quake with a magnitude of 7.5 or greater is 46%.

So, if you’ve always wanted to own a home and didn’t think that you could afford one, now is your chance. An earthquake of this magnitude would decimate an over inflated real estate market and create prime opportunities to buy.

So if you’re not sure what to do this Sunday, maybe you should start looking for a house because when the big one hits, you want to make sure that you’re prepared.
