AIDS & Genocide Are Good For Earth
Okay, I get it, the ice caps are melting, polar bears are dying, Indonesia is going to be underwater, and hurricanes will continue to ravage Florida. My question is why am I supposed to care?
Sure, I know that global warming is happening but it shouldn’t stop me from driving a gas guzzling Range Rover, leaving my lights on when I’m not at home, and burning my plastic GI Joe dolls and throwing them off my roof into the ocean because energy waste and CO2 emissions are not the problem, I am.
Carbon emissions might cause global warming but they are the result of an exponentially increasing population.
Currently there are 6 billion people in the world. There were only 3 billion 40 years ago. Added to which 76 million people are added annually. If nothing changes, in 43 years the world population will grow to 12 billion people. And all of these people need to eat, drive cars, and log onto the Internet to search for porn.
Which means that even if you reduce overall carbon emissions it will be impossible to stop global warming because any gains that are made will be drastically offset by the ever expanding population.
But nobody wants to fix the population problem. They only want to fix the emissions which is like putting a bandaid over a gun wound. So while women try and have children in their sixties and scientists figure out a way so we can live past a hundred; AIDS, Genocide and all other population reducing diseases are doing more to save the earth than the Prius Leonardo DiCaprio just bought, and that is sad.
