Keys Cause Stress
I don’t believe in keys. I believe all doors should be open and nothing should be locked. The only key I own is the key to my car. If I could get rid of it, I would.
Keys are stress points. The more keys you have the more stress and responsibility you have. I don’t need more stress. And I don’t need more responsibility.
That’s why I leave my apartment door unlocked. My office door wide open. And at the gym, I wrote the combination to my locker on the wall next to it, so I won’t have to remember three little numbers that open it. Sure it’s not the safest thing. Sure somebody might walk right into my house and rob me.
But for all the times I lost my keys, got locked out, or drove halfway to San Francisco and realized that the door was unlocked it’s worth it to not have that stress. To not worry.
And it was worth it last weekend when a girl I hardly know, entered my unlocked apartment and climbed into my bed at three in the morning.
Without keys, I am relaxed.
