The Week

A lot of things happened this week. The financial markets collapsed. Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. The government bailed out AIG. And John McCain couldn’t seem to figure out if our economic system was fundamentally sound or on the brink of disaster.

I’m not a historian, but there’s a good chance that a hundred years from now, historians will look back at this week as one of the pivotal moments in our nation’s economic history.

The only unfortunate part is that in the process they will have overlooked another historical moment that happened this week. And that’s why this week’s 365 Award goes to social networking website Myspace which has officially beaten out PORN as the most searched term on the Internet.

According to Geek.com, porn is no longer king online. Porn searches have dropped from 20 percent of queries 10 years ago to 10 percent today. With Myspace, Facebook, and other social networking sites pulling in more traffic, people are shifting away from what has been labeled “the dark part of the Internet.”

Personally I think it’s a tragedy. I hate Myspace. There are too many advertisements. That’s why I’m going to spend the rest of my day trying to tip the scale back. Porn must be king again!

I’m sure this post has made my mother proud.
