The Week

A lot of things happened this week. Crackwhore Tara Reid checked into rehab. The remains of Caylee Anthony were found again. Sam Bradford of Oklahoma won the Heisman Trophy, and President Bush made a surprise trip to the troops in Afghanistan. But this week’s 365 Award goes to Governor Blagojevich of Illinois.

Governor Rod Blagojevich, was arrested this week on federal corruption charges relating in part to the selection of a successor to President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat.

“I’ve got this thing and it’s fucking golden,” the 51-year-old Democrat said of his authority to appoint Obama’s replacement, “and I’m just not giving it up for fucking nothing. I’m not gonna do it.”

There are only 50 senators and they are arguably the most powerful men and women in our country. So the thought that Blagojevich would think that he could just sell a senate seat is disgusting. But of course it is politics, and I’m sure this is just the first time someone has gotten caught.

Which I’m sure is just what Americans need right now, another corrupt politician that once again exposes the flaws of our system.
