The Week

A lot of things happened this week. A U.S. Airways’s jet crashed into the Hudson river and miraculously all 150 passengers survived. The midwest reached record cold temperatures. Boy George was sentenced to 15 month in jail for enslaving a male prostitute in his basement. And the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals advanced to the super bowl. But this week’s 365 Award goes to Marcelino De Jesus Martinez.

Marcelino Martinez was arrested earlier this week when authorities learned that the 36 year-old man tried to sell his 14 year old daughter for 7 cases of corona, 6 bottles of wine, 50 cases of Negra Modelo, some meat, and 50 cases of gatorade.

According to authorities, the daughter moved in with the man, but when Marcelino didn’t receive his payment, he went to the police. Soon after, he was arrested.

According to authorities, it’s common in Mexico for fathers to sell their daughters for beer. The only surprise was the amount of beer she sold for. Clearly, she was a real beauty.
