AIDS & Genocide Are Good For Earth

earth-day2.jpg

Okay, I get it, the ice caps are melting, polar bears are dying, Indonesia is going to be underwater, and hurricanes will continue to ravage Florida. My question is why am I supposed to care?

Sure, I know that global warming is happening but it shouldn’t stop me from driving a gas guzzling Range Rover, leaving my lights on when I’m not at home, and burning my plastic GI Joe dolls and throwing them off my roof into the ocean because energy waste and CO2 emissions are not the problem, I am.

Carbon emissions might cause global warming but they are the result of an exponentially increasing population.

Currently there are 6 billion people in the world. There were only 3 billion 40 years ago. Added to which 76 million people are added annually. If nothing changes, in 43 years the world population will grow to 12 billion people. And all of these people need to eat, drive cars, and log onto the Internet to search for porn.

Which means that even if you reduce overall carbon emissions it will be impossible to stop global warming because any gains that are made will be drastically offset by the ever expanding population.

But nobody wants to fix the population problem. They only want to fix the emissions which is like putting a bandaid over a gun wound. So while women try and have children in their sixties and scientists figure out a way so we can live past a hundred; AIDS, Genocide and all other population reducing diseases are doing more to save the earth than the Prius Leonardo DiCaprio just bought, and that is sad.

3 Observations for “April 22nd, 2008”

  1. Let’s not forget a few things.

    1) “Carbon” has been used to replace the word “Carbon Dioxide” which is considered a Greenhouse gas. There are worse Greenhouse gases. Like Methane.

    2) If this country were serious about reducing Carbon, or the greenhouse effect, we would be adopting Nuclear power wholesale — like France has done. However, the same Eco-Nazis that preach an-unproven Greenhouse problem also preach that Nuclear power is unsafe. Nuclear power is used everywhere and is the only source of energy we have today that can both scale to the level of energy we need and is readily available today. The 4S reactor technology cannot meltdown like the reactors from the 50s and 60s.

    3) What folks who preach about Global Warming are really trying to do is tell their other humans how to live — while often NOT walking their own talk (i.e. Al Gore flying private jets, etc).

    4) As far as I can tell, the only “proof” that there is Global Warming is this idea of a consensus of “thousands” of scientists that were present at a UN conference a few years ago. As far as I can tell, a consensus of thousands of scientists in the 1400s would have sworn the Earth was flat. And in the 800s I can imagine thousands of “scientists” would have sworn the Earth was the center of the Universe. There is no such thing as science by consensus. The plural of opinion is really an anecdote.

  2. Come se dice “either way…we are fucked” in espanol?

  3. As much as I hate to admit, the Earth is warming up. There is no doubt about it. However, Scientists look at data from CO2 emissions and rising temperatures and automatically draw a correlation. But, as we all have learned in AP Statistics in High school, “Correlation does not support Causation”. In non-math terms, this means that scientists are a bunch of douche-filled assholes that are only looking at a piece of the pie. Nowhere do these scientists explain about natural climate shifts, the influence of cosmic forces on earth’s magnetic field, or the fact that plants NEED CO2 to survive. My plan to reduce “Global Warming” is two fold and addresses both CO2 and Methane emissions

    1. Plant more trees, open more parks, grow algae farms. Something like that to reduce emissions.

    2. Because Cows are the primary source of methane emission, enjoy a steak, a burger and ribs for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
