143 Million Pounds of Beef, And We Can’t Fix This. . .

Three weeks after The Humane Society released an undercover video of workers abusing cows on the Internet, The Department of Agriculture forced the Westland / Hallmark Meat Company to recall 143 million pounds of beef.

The Department of Agriculture classified the largest recall in our nation’s history as a Class II recall, meaning that the chances of a health hazard were remote.

For anyone who ever doubted the influence that the Internet can have on traditional institutions, the impact of the video is proof that our world is changing.

I just wish that instead of stopping the abuse of cows The Humane Society could have focused their attention on ridding CNN of Nancy Grace. I mean how long can we humans be abused by her big hair and small mind?

For those who are unfamiliar with Nancy Grace, she is a CNN talk show host and legal analyst who is known for sensationalizing murder, rape, and kidnaping cases.

But instead of giving an accurate, balanced, and thoughtful commentary, she abuses her position as a public media figure to propagate the single message “That we are all guilty, until proven innocent.”

Some of her past indictments have included the Duke Lacrosse team and 21 year old Melinda Duckett who committed suicide just hours after being interrogated on her show.

If she is not more hazardous than a few abused cows, then we are all in trouble.
