My Life. Parents. Dealing.
Posted on July 31st, 2008 by Dylan
My father was an entrepreneur just like his father before him. They worked together in a family company that they built, managed, owned and sold.
Two months after I graduated college, my father passed away. There was no company to work for. No father to take me under his wing. So I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dreams.
I only mention it because today would have been my father’s 75th birthday. And had he been alive, I would be in New York right now celebrating with him. I would be in New York, living and working for him.
I wouldn’t be in Los Angeles pursuing my dreams. Living life the way I wanted to live it. And the hard truth is that I needed him to pass away for me to discover who I am.
Happy birthday dad.

I might have cried at this one.
