No Such Thing As Fantasy Friends
I’m not going to do any work today. On second thought, my boss reads this, so I am going to do some work today just not a lot of real work because I have my fantasy baseball draft tomorrow and I have to figure out which players I want on my team.
And it’s not that I’m a fantasy baseball junkie because I’m not. I actually hate baseball. I think it’s slow, boring, and has one tenth of the excitement that a football game has. Which might explain why I’ve managed to come in last place every year since the league’s inception.
But all that being said, I’ve been in the same fantasy baseball league for the last eight years with one of my oldest friends from high school, who I rarely ever see or talk to except during baseball season. So this league has been my way to keep up with a friendship that I’ve felt has slowly slipped away through out the last couple of years.
And since I value my friendship more than my job, I can’t do any work and have to put my friend first.
Besides isn’t today Good Friday? You can’t get fired on the day Jesus died.
